Troops from the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, in conjunction with Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) in Taraba State, have arrested three individuals suspected of banditry, along with a logistics supplier associated with terrorist activities both within and beyond the state.

Naija News understands that the suspects were arrested during a specialized operation initiated on October 7, 2024, in Andami, located in the Karim Lamido Local Government Area.

In a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations for the 6 Brigade, noted that the arrests were made possible through reliable intelligence.

He further explained that the suspected bandits were arrested in Jeb-Jeb, a border community straddling Taraba and Plateau states.

Captain Oni identified the suspects as Adamu Abubakar, Mohammed Bello, and Musa Adamu.

He further indicated that these individuals were implicated in a range of criminal activities, including armed robbery, kidnappings, and violent assaults on local communities.

“These arrests come as part of a broader effort of 6 Brigade to curb the rising wave of inter-state criminality within its Area of Operations.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects have been active in the state for several years and Investigation is in progress to apprehend other members of the criminal syndicate,
” he said.

The spokesperson for the Army disclosed that a significant logistics supplier for a prominent terrorist organization in Taraba State was apprehended during a distinct operation in Bunka village, located within Lau Local Government Area.

He asserted that the individual, identified as Musa Inusa, was responsible for supplying crucial provisions and various materials to the terrorists active in the region.

“His arrest is expected to disrupt the supply chain and further weaken the operational capabilities of the group,” Captain Oni said.
