How Edo State Would Raise Money To Pay ₦70,000 Minimum Wage - Obaseki

Former Senior Special Assistant to Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, Solomon Okoduwa, has hailed the Governor-elect, Monday Okpebholo, as a “God-sent” leader following his recent victory in the governorship election.

Okpebholo, the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) with 291,667 votes.

His closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), garnered 247,274 votes, while Olumide Akpata from the Labour Party received 22,763 votes, placing third.

In a statement following the election results, Okoduwa expressed that Okpebholo’s ascension to the governorship is a significant victory for the people of Edo State.

He described the outcome as divine justice against the outgoing governor, Godwin Obaseki, asserting that this was a punishment for Obaseki’s “wickedness, vendetta, and high-handedness.”

He said, “Okpebholo, from his background is God-sent. The way he addressed issues and relates to people you will never see arrogance in him.

“That is why the entire returnees protested against him and voted Okpebholo.

“Almighty God deliberately wanted to punish Obaseki by giving him defeat because of his wickedness to returnees and other indigenes of Edo State.

“The factors that led to his defeat were his wickedness and high-handedness, unforgiving spirit and vendetta.”
