Edo Election: Ganduje Gifts ₦20 Million To Families Of Late Police Officers

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Umar Ganduje, has presented ₦20 million to families of late Kano policemen who were deployed to Edo State during the last governorship election.

Naija News reported that five policemen deployed from the Kano command to Edo State for the gubernatorial poll were involved in a ghastly motor accident.

Ganduje gave the donation on Saturday when he paid a condolence visit to the families of the late police officers in Bichi town, Kano.

The former governor of Kano State said the party regrets the loss of life of the police officers.

“We are here not for celebrations but to offer condolences and sympathize with the families, the IGP, and the entire Kano community for those who died while returning from a national assignment, which occurred two weeks ago.

“It has been the tradition of our party and government to always be with families in grief and to comfort them and make them feel that they are not alone in this sad moment,”
Ganduje stated.

Ganduje noted that “the accident was a sad moment not only for the Police Force but for him personally and the nation in general, adding that five officers died instantly while 10 others sustained various degrees of injuries.”
